Bad Blogger!

I am a bad blogger. I admit. To atone, here is a picture of, you guessed it - more socks! This should be a sock blog, because that's all I ever have pictures of.

I'm on the second front half of the cable cardigan, and it's going well. I think it might be a little bit too big though. I'm definitely going to do this pattern again, so I'll do a size smaller next time.

That's about it for knitting news! Again, I will distract you with cute kid pictures...

I am thankful for socks

Or, I'm thankful that I'm not insane after knitting so many socks. I finished the first cable and rib sock, and am now halfway down the leg of the other one.

I tried to take a picture of the whole sock, but I must have had too many mint M&M's and the sugar hit me, because the picture came out all fuzzy. If you've never had mint M&M's, YOU MUST GO BUY SOME RIGHT NOW. THIS VERY MINUTE. RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

I'd give you some, but I only have 4 spare bags hidden in my cabinet. Which Chris found today, and he lauged at me a lot. And then he ate some of them. And then he mysteriously disappeared...

I'm pretty thankful for mint M&M's too.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Another day, another sock

I tried to take a picture of the two gull wing socks together, but the light isn't good. So, you'll just have to trust me that there are two socks.

Here's a (bad) picture of the cable and rib sock from Fall 2005 Interweave Knits:

You can't at all see the cable and rib pattern, but when it's stretched out it's more visible. I've said it before and I'll say it again - socks are difficult to photograph.

I'm almost done with the armhole shaping on the back of the cabled Grace cardigan. As soon as I run out of yarn, I'll order more from knitpicks, as well as for the two-toned Eyelet Cardi for which I also ran out of yarn.

I finally get to go to SnB tomorrow night! Whoo hoo! Miss the Panera and the crazy knitters!

It's been a long time coming...

This post, that is! We got a "quit playing on the Internet" warning at work, and I think that applies to blogging, which really cramps my blogging style.

Some pics for you...
I got lots of sock knitting done on the planes for my Canada trip. These pictures were obviously not taken on a plane. Although, I did teach my boss (a guy) how to cast on during the trip, so I kind of wish I had a picture of that...

I've also made it to the armhole shaping on back of the Grace cable cardigan. Love this sweater - want about 10 of them. It's done using Shine cotton from knitpicks, so the whole thing costs about $25, and it's so soft...love it love it love it...

I have work knitting now too, because I'm doing a training class, and all the lectures are on DVD. So I can hole up in a conference room, listen to the boring lectures, and knit! That knitting is another sock - the cable and rib sock from Interweave Knits, done in Sock Landscape from knitpicks.com.

I've missed SnB for 2 weeks now and am going through withdrawal. Must knit with knitterly friends!

Mobile blogging

I'm writing this post from the Richmond airport, where I'm waiting for a severly delayed plane up to Canada. Well, eventually I'll get to Canada - it'll take me two stops to get there. I had planned on visiting a yarn store (or two!) in Regina, SK today, but looks like that won't happen due to the later arrival. Sigh...

I'm almost done with the first of the gull wing socks, and I've run out of yarn on the ChicKnits eyelet cardi. I knew I would run out - I was using yarn from another (smaller) project. So I need to order some more from knitpicks. In the meantime, I started on the Rowan Grace cardigan - I love this sweater! I hope it turns out well. I'll need more yarn on that one as well, since I orginally bought enough yarn for a short sleeved version, and now it's time for long sleeves. So, I'll make a big yarn order all at once.

No picture of knitting, but I'll distract you with a picture from halloween:
