All this for only $1.89

I've been sitting on a partially-used gift certificate to KnitPicks for a while now, and I finally decided to use it! I got:

For the Crumpets dress, which I may make into a top ala Knit and Tonic.

Which will become the Ribby Shell. Not sure how this will work with the funny way this knits up, but who knows, it could be cool, and the color is great.

This is fairly obvious - this is a sock.

I spent $1.89 more than my gift certificate, and I firmly believe all this will be worth every damn penny.

So my knitting list gets longer, and my finished list...stays...the same...

Harumph. After looking at the Goldfish Sweater about 300 times, I've decided that a number of things were wrong - the short rows for shoulder shaping were incredibly wonky, and I hadn't gone far enough on the shoulders. It would have made for ridiculously small arms.

So, I ripped. I've decided short rows are unnecessary (we'll see if that's true) and I need to go at least an inch longer on the shoulders. I'm back on track and hopefully this thing will all come together!

As an escape from the endless miles of stockinette, I've gotten to the eyelet/cable pattern on the Adrienne Vittadini sweater. It's really very easy, but we'll see how easy it remains when I've started the raglan shaping in pattern. I think it will be a beautiful sweater when it's done, though, and I will be sorry that it will be about 90 degrees here when it's finished. Probably too hot to wear wool silk.

Once I get further into the pattern and it begins to emerge, I'll take some pictures and post them.

It's almost Friday!

You can get a lot of knitting done on a business trip! I cast on (twice) for the goldfish sweater, and now have this:

It's the back, pinned half-assed to my carpet so you can kind of see the shape. I will need to do some serious blocking before it all goes together.

I've also been working on the Adrienne V pullover, and just got to the cabling on the front. It's nice to work on something besides miles and miles of stockinette! No pictures of that though.

But I got this in the mail:

...for the famous Ribby.

I did get to stop in on the KIP'ers in Chicago and had a great time! Thanks Ladies (and man and child)!

I am a picture fool

Many pictures for you!

Here's the Little Leaf Lace Scarf for the Red Scarf Project.

Along with a cr-appy picture of me...

And look what came in the mail today!

It's for the goldfish sweater, which I already cast on for:

Just in time for my trip to Chicago, where I will be (hopefully) dropping in on the KIP'ers!

And just for fun, here's a picture of Ainsley (who is sadly not feeling great):

Gigi is done! This was a very easy project - knit in the round using KnitPicks Merino DK in Storm and Vanilla. It took about 3 weeks of interrupted knitting. I made no changes to the pattern, but would probably add about an inch to the length in the future.

I also think it would be great in a cotton with short sleeves for the summer!

The headless shot:

Hmmmm, I seem to be a moron. I can't get the picture to reduce and NOT have those funny squiggly lines all over the sweater. For a better pic, click HERE.

I'm going to try to get a natural light picture after work today, to show the color. It's a very dark blue, much darker than in this shot.

Upcoming Projects

I ordered yarn for the Goldfish Sweater that I'm making for my friend Julie. I decided to go with Patons Grace from Yarn and Thread by Lisa. I'm going to use the T3 pattern from Knitty and double-stitch the fish when it's done. The yarn should be here next Tuesday.

So, what do I do in the meantime? I'm almost done with the Little Leaf Lace Scarf, so that will be winging its way to Lisa and Jacob for the Red Scarf Project.

And then, because I was on a roll from ordering the Patons yarn, I also ordered Reynolds Saucy yarn in Sage and Steel for the Ribby Cardi. Whew!
