After an initially disasterous trip to Vermont, much eating out, shopping and skiing, no broekn bones but a disgusting bruised knee, and a very smooth trip home - I'm back! Skiing was fun and it was great to see Julie again. We visited Kaleidoscope Yarns but despite all the great yarn, were uninspired. However, Julie would like a sweater much like that seen here. So I'm working on it!

Now it's back to work, and back to Stitch n Bitch where we saw the lovely (but much unseen) Maggi. Yay!

I've made a few inches of progress on the Little Leaf Lace Scarf and much progress on Gigi. Her sleeves are done, and I've moved into the miles of stockinette in the round for the body.

Picture time!

How'd they get the bunny to stay still?

Lots of pictures!

The Dale of Norway romper, which was gifted this morning...

My first attempt at yarn dyeing. I used much less Cherry Koolade than I should have, but it's a nice coral color with some (unintentioned) variegation...

Ainsley! I didn't make the sweater - Mom did.

Some strange pictures of Ainsley...

So, moving the decreases on the Dale baby romper to the sides was a stupid idea. Now the legs look like those pants you wear when you ride a horse. Didn't think that one through. Oh well, hopefully no one will notice. I finished the 9.5 inches of stockinette in the round (ugh!) and have moved on to the ribbed bodice. Yay!

I also did my first dye experiment - 440 yards of fingering merino from KnitPicks. I used cherry Koolade, but not nearly enough to get the red I was hoping for. So it's more of a coral, and not very even, which I think I like. I used my new ball winder and now have a very nice squat ball. I'll start on the Little Leaf Lace Scarf for the Red Scarf Project while I'm traveling this week.

Pictures of all soon!

Pictures of the capelet!

Too bad the top picture is a giant pic of my chest, and in the second I look like I'm about 16. I'm going to try to take some daylight pictures at home, maybe with the capelet on a hanger, because the color in these pictures isn't great. Panera just isn't the best place for photography I guess. But the pictures will be off by the deadline!

Progress continues on the Dale baby romper - I have both legs done and did the join in the round last night. The pattern calls for decreases in the center, which seems stupid. So I'm going to move them to the sides, so there's not a random line up the back and the front. I will try to get pictures soon. In the meantime, here's a good one:
