Sitcom Chic-y-ness

Just in time, a new Sitcom Chic is done:

"Just in time?" you ask. Well, my well-worn original Sitcom Chic has sprung a leak:

We had an unwelcome visitor the other day - a bird made its way into our dryer vent, and all the way up the pipe to the dryer itself. We thought it was a mouse, so we called our Orkin guy, who sprays for critters a few times a year at our house anyway. Poor guy pulled the dryer away from the wall, and out flew a bird!! He managed to catch it in a box and released it outside...we thought that was that, but the next morning, around 7AM, we heard flapping. Thinking the bird was back in the vent, Chris went to check it out. Unfortunately, the Orkin guy didn't quite get the dryer pipe back into the dryer, so the stupid bird flew back through the vent, up the pipe, and right out into the house. We found him flapping around the dining room, trying to get out the window. Chris caught him in a sheet and tossed him outside. He hasn't been back since, so hopefully twice was enough for him.

Now some pictures!

We had an Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood over Easter...

A bird in the dryer vent, eh? Think I'll go check if our screen is over our vent....

That's weird. We had a soffit pop loose under the eaves of our roof and some birds found their way in. We kept waking up at 4 am to flapping over our bed. I was so worried the repair guy wouldn't be able to get the birds out before reattaching the soffit and we'd hear desperate birds dying of starvation for weeks. Fortunately, they made it out. Whew! I hope your bird doesn't come back! Too bad about the sweater - do you still have the yarn? Can you repair it?

LOVE the sweater - nice color on you.

The bird story has me freaking out. I would have dissovled into a quivering mass if a bird flew into my house. I might never do laundry again!

Love your new sweater -- looks great on you and love that color. And the kids are adorable -- I love how they're both making the same face in their pictures!

That bird is living a charmed life! You might want to put one of those little cover thingies on the outside opening to the vent, to keep him from coming back. A piece of screen might work, too. I had a problem with birds nesting in the little hole where my bathroom fan vents -- that got to be a royal pain.
