Published!!!!
My snowflake socks were published this month in Magknits!!! Check them out here. And welcome to all the visitors who came from Magknits!!!
It's shaping up to be a long weekend...I would have posted yesterday (honest!) but our power is out thanks to Ernesto. It blinked out yesterday around 1:00PM and is estimated to be back on tonight by 10. I'll believe that when I see it...needless to say, all the contents of the fridge are lost. Luckily, it's cool here, so the lack of AC is tolerable.
I'm at work now, catching up on stuff and enjoying lights, Internets, and white noise. You never really realize how QUIET it gets when nothing in the house works! I hardly slept at all last night from it.
So, I hope everyone who knits the snowflake socks enjoys them - please feel free to leave comments so I can see how they're going!!!

The Snowflake socks are really gorgeous! Nice to finally see them. Knitty really missed out on those. Congratulations!!!
I agree - love the socks. Great job on them, Melanie. And now that you're a famous knitter/designer, I can say, "I knew you when...". ;-)
Lost power here, too, but this time I had a radio, Thank God, and it really saved my sanity. You're welcome to borrow it if you're power is still out tonight. Just call me and I can bring it to you.
Congratulations on being published!

The socks are very beautiful and would like to knit a pair for myself. But I need size 6 and don't know how to change the instructions. Any advice would be appreciated since I've only knitted 3 socks so far. Congratualions for being published!
Hooked on socks...yours have just been added to my must try list!
Hi Melanie!!
Your snowflake socks are amazing!!!! :)
I see a Snowflake KAL soon I'm sure. IF you hear of one send me the site and I'll join!!
I love that snowflake pattern
I'm going to cast on tomorrow morning. but... I think I'll probably do them toe-up as I'm experimenting with different toe-up heels at the moment.
I might not blog about them (maybe birthday present for my mum) so i'll email you if they work out well
I like the snowflake socks, they're gorgeous - definitely going on the 'to be knit' list. :) Congrats on being published!

Congrats!!! It's about time someone published those socks ... I may even make a pair myself ;-)
Love the snowflake pattern and your Potomatous (when talking to myself (doesn't everyone?) i usually refer to the pattern as "the hippo socks"), anyway, my Question for you: name and color of the yarn you used to knit your "hippo" socks, please?
I just finished my snowflake socks. I just wanted to leave you a comment to say that I love them! It's a really nice fun pattern. I'll be knitting more of these (but probably in more appropriate yarn then I actually used)
Those looked beautiful. I've never read your blog before, but MagKnit helped me find you. I am on a yarn diet right now (purchasing a house) but as soon as I get off the diet, I will be purchasing yarn to make snowflake!! They can be my second pair of socks, ever!
Jenn :)
I just love them. However, I keep getting an extra stitch on rounds 5 and 9 (the rows after the the k3/yo row). I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
Thanks.
Joan/NYC
